Dr. Dennis Slattery, Ph.D., is a core faculty member of the Mythological Studies program at Pacifica Graduate Institute, where he specializes in the literary classics, psychology and the writings of Joseph Campbell. He has written over 200 articles and reviews for books, magazine and newspapers, and is a popular speaker on the mythological imagination, presenting at conferences and lectures nationwide. Author of several books, his most recent is Grace in the Desert: Awakening to the Gifts of Monastic Life.

Dr. Stephen Wilkerson, M.D., was born and grew up in the Far East, the son of Presbyterian medical missionaries to China. He has spent most of his professional career as a physician, but is currently working on his doctorate in Mythological Studies from Pacifica Graduate Institute near Santa Barbara, California. Stephen now makes his home in Black Mountain, in western North Carolina.
